2018 Feng Shui for Women

In 2018, the Hard Metal energy visits the Mother Earth house. The Mother Earth personal element represents women, the virgin and goddess, wife and mother, matriarch and crone. And Hard Metal energy is represented by:

2018 is the Year of the Woman. The year women reclaim their power. The year women take responsibility for themselves and those in their care. The year women step forward as the head of their family, community, organization/company. The year they take the lead in their industry. They year they assert their authority in their own lives and the world. The year they honor their own needs. They year they embody their sovereignty.

It’s a year for them to help, empower and mentor others.  Be the influential person in other people’s lives. Model the leadership qualities they have developed.  Be the person others look to for wise advice and look up to in their field of expertise.

The Crown

You’ve heard of being the queen for a day? Well, this year women are queen for the year! It’s good to be queen. And you will have plenty of opportunities to explore what being the queen of your life and your family looks like. What being the queen in your relationships and in your home feels like.

It’s also a great time to understand where belief in authority, subservience to hierarchies and the need to follow a leader comes from. A crown is commonly associated with kings and queens, royal families with the assumed right to rule via their bloodline. In truth, a crown is not a symbol of royalty or rulers, but of the crown chakra. And the crown chakra represents a connection to your own Higher Self and all of the knowledge and wisdom in the Universe. It is a symbol of a fully enlightened, awakened soul with its own connection to Source. A crown encircles the crown chakra of a human and depicts an open channel between the embodied soul and the all-knowing, wise, eternal soul.

This need to find someone to look up to or provide direction and leadership, comes from a desire to be contributed to by an enlightened being with access to knowledge and wisdom. This misplaced loyalty and devotion, obedience and even worship of another fellow human takes the place of doing the work required to open your own crown chakra and gaining the knowledge you so desperately want and need, directly from Source. It infantilizes people. There is no self-proclaimed "leadership material" middle man or woman required.

Stop auditioning leaders for the job you can do yourself so much better. Stop giving them power over you. Stop consenting to being governed by people you don’t respect or admire and who don’t represent you.

Get your own connection to Source. Be the leader in your own life. Give yourself a crown and wear it proudly. Stand in your sovereignty with grace and dignity.  Keep your crown chakra open and embody your own Higher Self.

With the man of the house energy visiting the SW this year, it represents men coming home. After eight years away, they return. Home to their wife or mother. Home to the love of their life. Place two rose quartz crystals with your hand-written intention. Wear red.

Partnership

Mother Earth energy is represented by the completion number of two and the relationship dynamic of partnership. The two people that make up romantic relationships and business partnerships. The sexual relationship that keeps the human race going.

What that means is that, as women, it’s our personal responsibility to choose to be in partnership with men. To stop acting in ways that are in opposition to them. To take the initiative in ending the battle of the sexes. To recognize what a benefit and blessing they are and can be to our lives. To humble ourselves and ask for the help we need. To receive it when it is offered and given. And to express our appreciation for them and to them.

Becoming a mother for the first time or again. Fully embracing the role of mother. Being a motherly figure in the lives of other people’s children. Reclaiming your responsibility to take care of your own children yourself. Strengthening the relationship you have with your children. Advocating for children. Even mothering or healing your own inner child.

Having Words

The West is represented by The Storyteller archetype. It is also represented by the number 7, which provokes back stabbing, mean-spiritedness, slander and defamation, job loss and lawsuits. The parts of the body associated with Soft Metal are the mouth and chest, which translates to getting things off your chest and hurting people with your words. The negative emotions associated with Soft Metal are guilt and shame, so it's really no wonder that for women, shaming is the weapon of choice and their accused are guilty until proven innocent. Soft Metal is also associated with the youngest daughter and the social network or circle of friends.

In 2017, this energy was visiting the SW, the house of women. The big “I’m a victim too” story sharing, complaining and shaming that started on social media with the hashtag metoo will continue this year.
