Feng Shui for YOU! | December 2021
As the energy shifts during the first week of each month, it’s wise to have an awareness of what the potentials are for you and your family. That way you can prepare yourself and be ready for what might show up for you. Be intentional about how you are focusing your thoughts, processing your emotions and spending your time and energy. Create the space in your life for the gifts when they arrive. Be ready to say, “Yes!” to offers and opportunities when they come your way. Smooth out the bumps in the road or avoid them by slowing your pace, taking a detour or finding another route altogether.
Just as we adjust the feng shui in our living and working spaces to balance the ever changing energies in our environments, so too can we do the inner work to rebalance and realign our personal energy to maintain our wellbeing, whatever current energy is present in the universe.
The 8 Elements™ is Feng Shui for YOU! So, discover what you need to know about the energy this month and go feng shui yourself!
2021 | December 7 – January 5
Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
This month the visiting monthly energy brings the fresh scent of evergreen and the promise of wealth and prosperity to the center of every home. In fact, combined with the annual heavenly blessings energy, this monthly money tree energy adds up to what's called the Sum of Ten. This very auspicious energy combination brings victory over adversity, the potential to win money or a prize, receive an inheritance or be named the beneficiary of a large sum. Look for unexpected checks in the mail or deposits into your account.
This is why we feng shui our living and working environments every month, not just one and done or even once a year. And it’s why we feng shui ourselves continually in preparation for the influence of these cycling energies on our personal energy and lives.

Feng Shui for Everyone!

This month the Romance Star falls into the center of the home where the man, husband and father energy has been inhabiting all year. If you are looking to fall in love or renew the love in your romantic relationship, December is your month. If not, focus instead on renewing the love you have for yourself or your life.
What YOU can do:
- Put your Christmas tree up in the center of the home.
- Make your Christmas Wishlist and place it in the center.
- Write out a description of your Ideal Life you are in the process of bringing into your experience.
- Spend time in the center if you are a student, writer, creative or are interested in meeting the love of your life.
The monthly energy can cause some people to abuse substances, feel depressed, tempted to do self-harm and even be suicidal. Check on those in your life who are alone during the holidays or have a history or tendency to resort to drugs or alcohol to cope with their unexpressed or stored emotions.
What YOU can do:
- Check in with your emotional state daily.
- Have a designated driver for holiday events where there will be alcohol.
- Do wellbeing checks on the people in your life that you care about.
- Avoid the center area if you are an addict, depressed or suicidal.
It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.

Feng Shui for Men

In the House of Men this month, the Yellow Earth energy causes obstacles and delays for people in leadership positions. Their power is greatly diminished by this heavy, slow-moving energy and their plans are held up or put on hold until January. It's like walking through waist deep mud or a pocket of quicksand that swallows you faster the more you struggle to get free.
The shadow aspects of the annual Yin Metal energy are exacerbated by the visiting Yellow Earth energy. Men may be provoked to lashing out verbally, resorting to name calling or making slanderous remarks. To avoid putting your foot in your mouth, first pause to consider the intention behind your words.
What YOU can do:
- Think before you speak.
- Practice non-violent communication.
- Make time for rest.
- Prioritize self-care.
- Get any needed dental work done.
- Wear some metal accessories.
Before you speak, let your words pass through three gates: Is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?

Feng Shui for Women

In the House of Women this month, there is potential to advance in your career, receive a job promotion and accompanying raise or increase your cash flow or monthly income. Apply for the job if you'd like to be gainfully employed. Or, plant seeds for a new business opportunity or idea. You'll be able to stand on your own two feet.
In combination with the annual energy, women may feel imprisoned in their homes or by their marriage, job or life. Gossip and rumors about you may lead to lawsuits. Be prepared to take legal action against those who block or diminish your ability to provide for yourself and family.
What YOU can do:
- Embrace this "independent woman of means" energy.
- Make your house a home for the holidays with festive decor.
- Apply for the job or accept the promotion.
- Make that money, honey!
- Wear orange or red.
A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE…
enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to…
something perfect to wear if the employer,
or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour…

Feng Shui for Children

In the House of Children this month, the mentor energy brings a wealth of knowledge and an abundance of wisdom. The benefactor energy brings treasure boxes of riches and gifts of great value. This guidance and goodness brings joy to their heart and happy smiles to their faces.
Children will enjoy spending time with their parents, especially their fathers this month. Plan a special outing like going for a drive to see the Christmas lights in the neighborhood with hot cocoa or going to the Christmas tree farm to cut down your own tree. Or have daddy take the kids Christmas shopping for family members, especially mommy.
.What YOU can do:
- Make the season bright!
- Make a Holiday Bucket List.
- Help them write their Christmas Wishlist.
- Have them spend time with the wise menfolk in their lives.
- Plan a holiday trip, family car drive or special time with dad.
- Go on a fun family holiday outing.
Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Bells on bobtails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight
Jingle Bells
Have a Happy Holiday!
